When a super-smart friend of mine wanted to get a dog, she said: “I’m going to get a dog that has a similar energy to me, so that he doesn’t wear me out.”

She adores her dog. He has an incredible personality and brings her much joy. And he is perfectly aligned in his energy to her own energy. She is blessed with a dog that is lively, affectionate and enjoys falling asleep on her lap. Neither her dog nor she would ever feel that they are lacking in anything. In fact, they may feel that they were “uniquely designed for each other”. They are energetically aligned.

When we feel exhausted or burnt-out we may easily ask: “What is wrong with my energy?”

Instead, let’s be curious with a splash of courage and ask:
 

“What could my energy be trying to tell me?”

A happy, healthy and wealthy entrepreneur recently shared his perspective on burnout on a podcast.

He said:  “I believe burnout comes mainly from knowing what your soul wants to do in this life and continuing to do s.th. else out of fear.”

That hit home.

But how do we know what our soul wants? (Isn’t that a huge, complicated question?).

Maybe not. Following the signs of your Unique Energy Signature can lead you to your soul’s calling. They are not separate. Your unique energy signature is designed for your unique purpose and vice-versa.

Anchor this vital Shift in your Energy Awareness now:

Take a natural breath in and breathe out making the exhalation a bit longer.

Say inwardly: “My energy and purpose are interconnected for a beautiful reason, and I choose to discover it.”

And now, in your imagination, put on your funky-style Miss Marple, Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot hat and get started with solving your unique natural energy puzzle.

Your “Flow-States”

A state of flow is, when time flies by without you even noticing, because you are fully immersed in what you do. For some of us, it’s social engagement. For others, all it takes is a favourite solo activity, like fishing, reading, writing or painting.

We all have one or two things that are not obvious to us. That’s because it’s what we naturally do. It’s our way of being and we might not realise that our unique energy signature and purpose are tied to it.

Let’s start to pay attention to those times when we are completely in “flow” – when we lose track of time and are fully present in what we are doing, when we don’t feel self-conscious and the activity itself is its own reward.

EASE: What feels effortless to me? What comes as easy and natural as breathing?

ELATION: What makes me smile? When am I joyful?
 

ENLIVENMENT: When do I feel alive? Where do I connect with my natural aliveness?
